Headshot of Jeffrey Jiménez-KurlanderTalent Citizen is pleased to announce the appointment of Jeffrey Jiménez-Kurlander as Manager, Strategic Evaluation & Learning at the Mellon Foundation. In this inaugural role, Jeffrey will work across all areas of the Foundation in collaboration with Senior Director, Strategic Learning & Evaluation Jessica Mindnich, Ph.D., to enable responsive, data-informed decision-making at every level of the organization and help communicate the stories of Mellon, its grantees, and the power of social justice in the arts, culture, and humanities.

Most recently, Jeffrey was a Learning & Impact Officer for Learning & Grant Operations at the Surdna Foundation, where he served as the foundation’s data lead and expertly led a $1 million annual grantmaking portfolio focused on learning, evaluation, and data infrastructure. His leadership in developing the AI for Racial Equity initiative and implementing cutting-edge analytics tools has helped shape more effective, equity-driven strategies for the philanthropic sector.

Prior to Surdna, Jeffrey held roles at the Rockefeller Foundation and City Year, where he managed large-scale projects and strengthened data transparency efforts. He currently serves as Board Chair of Solar Responders and as a Steering Committee Member for the Partnership on AI, advising on AI’s role in philanthropy.

Jeffrey holds a Master of Public Administration from NYU Wagner and a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from John Jay College. His expertise in data visualization, impact assessment, and AI-driven solutions positions him as a strategic leader in the evolving landscape of social impact.
