Talent Citizen is pleased to announce that Dawn Kernen will join the Kauffman Foundation as Data Knowledge & Operations Lead. Dawn brings deep experience in creating and building high-performing analytics practices from the ground up. At Kauffman, Dawn will work across the Foundation and with external partners to define and manage business data, strengthen data systems and provide operational support to unlock insights that will inform equitable approaches to funding, policy, and practices – charting the way for Kauffman’s transformation into a data-enabled organization in pursuit of the Foundation’s mission of inclusive prosperity for all.
Dawn is an enthusiastic problem-solver with experience in creating and building successful analytics practices within non-profit, corporate and agency settings. She is a persistent analyst, bringing a strong diagnostic and interpretive aptitude as well as a keen ability to present and clarify technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Prior to joining the Foundation, Dawn was a business intelligence analyst with Midwest Transplant Network, an organization that facilitates life-saving organ and tissue donation. Her background includes data collection, management, strategy, storage, and visualization. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics and economics from the University of Nebraska. Dawn has served on the board of Hope Builders, been active in the Central Exchange, and volunteered with her kids’ schools when they were growing up. She is currently a member of Women who Explore, and active in youth and small group ministry with her church.
