Talent Citizen congratulates Zanieca Scott on her appointment as Leadership Giving Officer at Mount Holyoke College, effective January 26, 2026. As part of the Development team, Zanieca will manage a donor portfolio of alums, parents, and friends to secure philanthropic support from individuals capable of making gifts of six figures and higher, enabling the advancement of College priorities laid out in the MHC Forward strategic plan.
Zanieca joins Mount Holyoke from Johns Hopkins University’s Peabody Institute where she most recently served as Associate Director of Annual Giving. In that role, she led data-driven fundraising strategies, exceeding annual goals by 20 percent and achieving a 35 percent year-over-year increase in contributions. Zanieca managed a broad program of multichannel solicitations resulting in a 94 percent increase in annual fund contributions in FY24. She partnered closely with internal stakeholders to strengthen donor pipelines and improve operational efficiency, enhancing both donor engagement and results.
Previously, Zanieca served as Assistant Director of Constituent Engagement at Peabody, where she advanced alumni and student engagement. She collaborated across teams to execute regional and international events, revitalized alumni communications, and led Peabody’s inaugural senior giving campaign, helping to cultivate future generations of philanthropic leaders.
Earlier in her career, Zanieca held admissions and student engagement roles at the University of Delaware, where she advanced diversity-focused recruitment efforts, and mentored underrepresented students. Guided by a deep commitment to education, access, and equity, she brings a relationship-centered approach that closely aligns with the mission and values of Mount Holyoke College.
Known for her thoughtful, disciplined, and collaborative fundraising style, Zanieca is excited to contribute to Mount Holyoke’s culture of philanthropy and donor engagement. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Delaware and is currently pursuing her MBA at Johns Hopkins University’s Carey Business School. Zanieca has also completed training in The Discipline of Frontline Fundraising from Plus Delta Partners and holds a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
