Talent Citizen is pleased to announce the appointment of Talia Stol, PhD, as Learning and Evaluation Officer at The Heinz Endowments. In this critical role, Talia will collaborate across program areas and with external partners to design and implement strategy-specific evaluation and learning mechanisms, gather impactful data, facilitate learning loops, and translate insights into actionable strategies that advance the Endowments’ vision of a more equitable, creative, and sustainable Pittsburgh region.
Talia brings over 15 years of experience leading evaluation, capacity-building, and continuous learning efforts in equity-focused settings, including education, arts, community development, and informal learning environments. Prior to joining the Endowments, Talia served as a Research Associate at the Learning Research & Development Center at the University of Pittsburgh. In this role, she designed and managed a multi-year evaluation of an innovative public-private partnership between DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation and the McKeesport Area School District and supported the national STEM PUSH Network in advancing equity in STEM pathways. Her earlier work includes evaluation and research roles at the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh, UCLA’s Center X, and the University of California Educational Evaluation Center, where she engaged diverse stakeholders in reflective learning processes, facilitated professional learning, and contributed to collaborative research on equitable evaluation practices.
She holds a Ph.D. in Education with a focus on Program Evaluation from UCLA, an M.A. in Social Science and Comparative Education from UCLA, and a B.A. in Political Science and International Studies from Northwestern University.
