Talent Citizen congratulates Tim Wortham, Jr. on his appointment as Senior Director of Global Alumni Engagement at University of Pennsylvania School of Arts & Sciences (Penn SAS), effective July 16, 2025. In partnership with Associate Vice Dean for Advancement Chad Newill, Tim will lead a team of professionals while providing strategic leadership in the design and implementation of an integrated, comprehensive alumni engagement program. In this high-profile alumni engagement leadership role, Tim will work closely with leaders of Penn SAS to engage a highly valued network of alumni across the globe in collaboration with Development and Alumni Relations colleagues across the University.
With more than 20 years of advancement experience, Tim joins the School of Arts & Sciences from University of Pennsylvania Annenberg School for Communication, where he served as Senior Director of Institutional Advancement. In that role, Tim led a comprehensive development and alumni relations program, managing a team overseeing alumni engagement, individual giving, and communications. Previously, Tim served his alma mater, Eastern University, as Associate Vice President of Alumni & Family Engagement where he led the revitalization of an alumni engagement program for more than 33,000 alumni. Prior to his role at Eastern University, Tim spent 20 years in positions of increasing responsibility at Penn, including alumni relations leadership roles at Penn Carey Law and the School of Social Policy & Practice, as well as development and alumni engagement positions at The Wharton School and School of Dental Medicine.
Tim is recognized as an entrepreneurial, creative, and relationship-driven colleague, whose background is well suited to this role as the strategic connector among engagement, volunteer management, and fundraising at Penn’s largest school and alumni base, representing a vast diversity of alumni identities and experiences. Tim earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern University and a Master of Science degree in Nonprofit Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy & Practice. Tim is currently pursuing a Doctor of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Eastern University.
