Talent Citizen congratulates Kellie Sullivan on her appointment as Senior Director, Annual Giving at Boston University, effective July 18, 2022. In this position, Kellie will lead a team of fundraisers and serve as the primary strategist on omni-channel marketing efforts—including direct mail, e-mail, social, digital, video, telefund, print outreach, and stewardship—designed to engage and solicit the university’s 400,000 alumni.
Previously, Kellie served as Director of Annual Giving at The University of Texas at Austin, where she built a team of eleven professionals and led both traditional direct mail and phone outreach as well as emerging channels, such as texting, crowdfunding, and days of giving. As the lead relationship manager for more than 40 schools and units at UT Austin, Kellie is adept at fostering cross-institutional collaboration, tailoring approaches for maximum effectiveness while maintaining consistency in overarching strategy and university brand.
Kellie has more than a decade of experience in annual giving, with deep expertise in large research universities. Prior to joining UT Austin in 2014, Kellie was an annual giving operations consultant with Ruffalo Noel Levitz. She held in-house roles with clients such as the University of South Carolina and Wayne State University.
Kellie is recognized industry wide as an expert in crowdfunding and student giving. She is adept at identifying, implementing, and maximizing technology solutions in fundraising. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Science from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Born and raised in New Jersey, Kellie is looking forward to returning to the Northeast and making Boston home with her family, including two large dogs.
