Tahsin I. Alam is Associate Vice President, Talent Management and Organizational Development at the Rutgers University Foundation. He serves as a member of the Foundation’s Executive Leadership Group and reports dually to the President and the Chief Financial Officer.
With over 12 years of experience in Advancement searches, Tahsin began his career as an Associate with Isaacson Miller. After eight years of working with the development and alumni relations search practice, Tahsin went on to become a Managing Associate with the Nonprofit Professional Advisory Group (NPAG). Tahsin has also conducted Presidential, Dean of Faculty, and Dean of Student level searches.
At the Rutgers University Foundation, Tahsin leads an 8-person team responsible for the recruitment, on-boarding, performance appraisal, professional development and retention of professional fundraisers, alumni relations professionals and associated staff. His team includes the Human Resources function for all employees. He is also in charge of organizational change and management, having reconstructed several of the departments at the Foundation.
With Talent Citizen, Tahsin enjoys helping the company’s clients in building out their talent management function. This includes creating multi-year rollout plans for establishing a talent management team, providing reorganizational expertise for development and alumni relations departments, conducting audits of existing organizational structures and providing performance review programs catered to the development and alumni relations professions.
Tahsin holds a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Politics, Economics and Theater from Bates College.
