Do you believe that solving complex problems takes an intersectional approach? Are you an intellectually curious network strategist who gets energized by taking ownership of projects and diligent follow-through? Talent Citizen is looking for you.

Talent Citizen is a woman-owned, mission-driven executive search firm that taps into the nation’s best thinkers in the civil, corporate, and nonprofit sectors in their pursuit of positive social impact. The firm was founded in 2015 to explore how search firms, their clients, and leaders across the mission-driven space can use their positional power for collective good. We are grounded by a strong belief in networked leadership and how leaders in various ecosystems can pull levers of policy, advocacy, program, research, funding, and impact assessment in ways that promote racial equity and social justice. We work collaboratively with a range of mission-driven organizations, from community-engaged nonprofits to national higher education, healthcare, philanthropy, and advocacy organizations.

Our projects explore intersectional issues that are multi-sectoral and often multi-disciplinary, such as where community transformation meets equitable housing, economic mobility, education, environmental resilience and climate justice, public health, health equity, medical research, and healthcare. We’re growing with intention, and we are seeking a part-time data specialist to join our remote team of six who conduct national and global searches from their bases in Boston, MA; Kalamazoo, MI; Minneapolis, MN; Portland, OR; and Northern and Southern, CA.

This is a very meaningful position for Talent Citizen and critical to the success of all team members. We have a commitment to transparency, collective learning, and relational follow-through; this approach means that how we record, organize, and interpret our data is an integral part of fulfilling our values. We’re mapping talent ecosystems, keeping a pulse on organizational changes in various fields, continuously welcoming burgeoning leaders as well as building relationships with professionals ranging from those deep in the center of their fields as well as those innovating at the edges.

With attention to detail and commitment to best practices, you’ll enter accurate and complete data into a proprietary database, help uphold data quality, and serve as a proactive project manager. Your work requires thoroughness as well as an investigative and problem-solving approach. This includes knowledge checking and the systematic deployment of various on-line sites and tools to obtain complete information and maintain data integrity. Familiarizing oneself with different nomenclature across Talent Citizen’s project areas as well as building an understanding of database query functions will be important to categorizing information in retrievable ways. This work requires informed judgement, decisiveness, and the mental stamina to stay focused around repetitive processes as well as positivity for short-term goal setting.

The ideal candidate will be curious with the ability to adeptly learn new concepts. Data specialists are expected to maintain regular and frequent communication with their colleagues. As the workflow of the team is directly linked to the timeliness and accuracy of information, the data specialist will need to pivot to the needs of the firm based on project workload and prioritization.

Proven data specialist work experience, as a data entry operator or administrative assistant is required. Experience with MS Office, using online research tools, and working within a proprietary database and the handling of sensitive data is also needed. Preference will be given to candidates with professional exposure to nonprofit and/or mission-driven organizations or to social impact initiatives as bringing an understanding of data mining, data integrity, and security protocols.
